2014 Entry – Claddagh pendant

My name is Andrew Shaw. I live in the city of Suzhou in Jiangsu Province in China. I have my own workshop where I carve jade.

My submission for the Symposium is a Claddagh pendant in Siberian green nephrite, with 24k gold and a small diamond.

The Claddagh is a traditional Irish design with a heart cupped in two hands, topped with a gold crown.   The meaning is "I give you my heart crowned with gold".

I do not wish to compete for a prize in this Symposium. I submit this piece only to be involved in a great event. I wish the World Symposium every success now and in the future. May Brian Matheson succeed in his mission to spread the word about the Stone of Heaven around the world.
